Sick, sick, SICK

The extended weekend started out great what with the family fondue and gift exchange Friday night before heading to Grandma's but after the holiday and mah jongg club on Sunday Thea and I didn't do so well. She started feeling ill that afternoon and by early evening hadn't gotten better so she requested a visit to St. Mary's hospital on Park street (yes, it was that bad). By the time we got there I wasn't feeling well myself and both of us were admitted and treated for stomach flu/food poisoning. An unpleasant night ensued.

We were there a few hours and her brother and sister-in-law was kind enough to come up and drive us home since neither of us were in condition do to any more than suffer and rest. Back in town we crashed after she made a quick stop at the grocery store for some recovery food. She stayed the night because she was worried about me and so we could look after each other. I certainly wouldn't have taken as good of care of myself had I been left alone.

By morning we were feeling somewhat less sick and nauseous but still unable to do anything but recover. Both of us gradually started to take liquids, then soft foods and keep them down. We watched Time Bandits, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and UHF today, with me sleeping through half of the last one. After we woke up I took her home and started tidying the living room for something to do.

We agree that what we had was probably food poisoning. Yesterday (Sunday) we both ate at the Eatery and then a bakery next to Pegasus Games and fell ill at the same time. A little too well timed to be a virus. Hopefully tomorrow we'll be well enough to survive a full day's work. I still have to get the place cleaned up before the Eva-Thon this Saturday and today was going to be put largely toward that.

I feel bad about not keeping up with all your journals over the past several days, especially since some of you have put in a few long entries. Believe me I'll try, but unless I feel ambitious, you probably won't see much from me for the next few days. I hope you all are feeling much better than I am.

Take Care.
