12:30 am: Post Dwarf-a-thon (updates to come)
It is after midnite and the Great Red Dwarf-a-thon is officially over. We watched all of the first IV seasons in 13 & 1/2 hours including breaks. I planned on hosting 20 guests and only had five but a splendid time was still had by all. I've had a pleasantly eventful weekend beginning with Friday afternoon but at the moment I'm a little tired and have only enough drive to post this brief note and warning.

Warning, you say? Yes, for this coming Saturday I will be leaving for D.C. and haven't done a lick to prepare. Sure, packing shouldn't take long but I still need to go to the camera shop to see if my 35mm is repairable and if not (or if not within the week) purchase and learn to use a digital. Monday I'm gonna make curry and generally slob off after the busy weekend and Tuesday I have a morning appointment. [thinks a moment] The appointment shouldn't last too long so I think I can take care of the 35mm thing then. Still, I have to be responsible and wake up with enough time to do these things before work.

Oh, wait. That paragraph sort of went off track. The warning regards my updates or predicted lack thereof. I do want to record my weekend soon with due respects to the friends that joined me today but tonight isn't the night.

It just occurred to me: Why did I buy all this fruit Friday? I'm not gonna be able to eat all those peaches and apples before I go. At least, not at the rate I usually eat fruit. I'll have to take them to work for snacks or give them to Mom so they don't spoil. The peaches aren't ripe yet so they might last and I'm pretty sure the apples will int he fridge but this is something I should have thought of before I made out the grocery list. Plus, Thea brought what must be about twenty dollars worth of snackfoods today and left them here for us so now I have a big bowl of (delicious but certainly unhealthy) taco dip to finish, two big bags of chips and two cases of soda I'm not likely to drink. (Note to self: must find a way to get her over here soon so we can finish this stuff off.)

Now that I've actually begun to think about this stuff I realize that I shouldn't be too concerned. The leftover curry and dip I can freeze (provided there's room in the freezer) and fruit planned out in the previous paragraph so now I'm pretty much rambling.

Anyway, thanks to all who joined me today and to those who couldn't, we missed you. I'll probably do another marathon in the not-to-distant future with Eva or something. It was a lot of fun.

Let me know if you ever want to do a Tick marathon. I have the whole cartoon series. Past marathons have lasted about 17 hours.

Oh, and GOD, let me know if you ever do another RD marathon. Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.

I was hoping you could make it this weekend but didn't hear either way. It occurred to me with a pang of dread that you may not have received the informative e-mail I sent. Did you?

I will definitely let you know if I do another RD marathon -- maybe once series V is out -- or any other type. I think part of why I had low attendance this time is that it was the same weekend as Second Age Ring Game and people were probably recovering Sunday. Hope to see you at the next one.

Oh, and the Tick-a-Thon would be great! If I had the woodworking skills I would build my own Little Wooden Boy.

Re: a-thon

I never got it, unless you sent it to my hotmail. I check that maybe once a month. hal@halspages.com or tlhInganHom@yahoo.com will usually grab my attention within a couple hours, though.

Well, if you do want to do Tick, just give me a place and time, whenever. :)

I suck

I'm so sorry!!! V_V I sent it to your hotmail account. I will use the others for important stuff next time.

A Tick-a-thon would be fun and I have a couple friends who would like to get in on it. My place works well as long as someone brings a TV and appropriate player (DVD,VHS, etc.) I'm going to be full up for the next few weekends with my trip to D.C. and a party and stuff.

Hey! Want to come to a Halloween(ish) party in October? The theme is something like dress-like-a-pirate (I think.) I've been invited and instructed to bring two people.

Again, I'm sorry I sent the info to the wrong address. Of course, now you have mine to extract your revenge... But... Um, I'll be nice.

Re: I suck

heh, cool. :) Depends largely on when it is, though. On Halloween itself, I usually go trick-or-treating.

I actually have a couple tv's (13"/27"), and could probably talk my sister into letting me borrow her PS2 for a day... whenever this could happen. You'll have to let me know when you have a free weekend or something.
