03:00 am: War of the Worlds Update:
I am excited at the prospect of a new movie based on H.G. Wells' War of the Worlds. Timothy Hines, an independent film director along with Pendragon Pictures has been filming an almost direct adaptation period piece of the novel. I'll repeat that, has been filming an almost direct adaptation period piece of the novel THIS is about the only thing that could get me excited about a motion picture version of my favourite novel because far too often these days a great classic (or several classics in the case of the abomonation known as -LXG- last summer) is raped for the sake of special effects or action, whatever else brings a lot of money in for a short time.

The new film should be out by spring of 2005, just ahead of Spielberg's adaptation. Yeah, I saw something about Spielberg in there too but haven't researched that further yet. It's late and this could keep me up for a while if I'm not careful.

This news is good timing since my seasonal War of the Worlds obsession kicked in this week and just prior to finding the website I finished another track for my album.

Oh, and for those waiting for a link, hereyago.

Wow... I wasn't aware of either movie, but this is really cool. I looked both movies up online and the British one sounds to me like it'll be closer to the book. If nothing else, I trust Spielberg to deliver a fun movie if not a really good one. Here's hoping that they both play in theaters around here.
