12:10 am: No more 26.4
My hair used to lay flat. It used to have a neat little wave in it a couple inches from the end. I didn't always look like that guy in the Maxell chair. But today, for the first time in my life a computer I own is getting better than 28.8kb/s. For today I have a cable modem. And it was good.

Busy week is still continuing. The cable guy called an hour before I expected him and was very swift in his work, including running another cable from the box under my house and up through the floor in the computer room. Perhaps a little too fast since I didn't have time to think of any questions which I'm normally quite good at when preparing to use something I know relatively nothing about. After he left I surfed around for a bit to check for updates on my favourite websites. However, when I tried to update the virus definitions on my anti virus software I found it couldn't connect. The program still wants to use my dial-up connection and I haven't been able to change the proper settings. I did manage to discombobulate my Internet Properties on my browser so I couldn't connect to anything but thankfully a quick tech support call solved it. It was odd using the telephone at the same time as the Internet. Gads, I must sound old fashioned.

I won't know what to do with myself. I'm used to connecting to a website and then going to do something like walk up the hill to get my mail or start cooking a meal while I wait for it to download. This is going to mess up my whole routine.

Tomorrow I get to wake early yet again to begin (again) the process of refinancing my home loan. I swear, NOTHING has gone smoothly with that stupid bank. But once I get a lower interest rate and monthly payments I can go back to ignoring them.

Anyway, here's where I'm going to get my dream car someday. Well, one of my dream cars.

This is my 100th post. Say "whee," throw confetti and cut the cake.
