I've put this off for a little too long so tonight you'll just get the quick 'n' dirty version.

A couple weeks ago I received a notice from my employer that my 5-year anniversary is coming up in November. (Sad, innit?) This is the first actual landmark that the company observes for their lowly hires in the form of some sort of trinket and token dinner. Today I received a second notice urging me to hurry up and select a gift from their list of thirty so it can be "custom created" for me. None of the items are very appealing to me so I'm going to open it up to a vote for you, my loyal henchlings underlings subjects peoples.

Since this is only supposed to be viewable by me, there are a couple steps to get to the list. First, GO HERE. Click "Click to Continue." After Spitting on the image of our CEO click "Awards" along the top and that should take you to the "5 Year Award Selections" by default. That wasn't so hard, was it? Check it out, click photos for more description and check the box for the item(s) you think I should get. I don't know if it will let you select more than one but if not, feel free to support your choices in the comments section.

I mentioned a dinner, didn't I? It's Thursday, November 3rd at 6 o'clock. I get to leave work early and go to The Great Dane Pup in Fitchburg. I'm allowed to bring one guest so I'll probably invite one of you. The menu I'm allowed to choose from varies from sirloin to swordfish so, sorry girls, a couple of you won't be interested. I gotta RSVP by Monday so someone will get a call soon.

Anyway, Here's the poll. Share and enjoy...

Oops. It would seem that the Livejournal poll creator likes to rearrange things. I apologize if this makes it difficult to find the checkbox for your item.

What can I say...throwing darts is usually a good way to relieve stress. In fact...throwing anything helps sometimes. At least with darts you can post up a pic and throw at it without risk of prosecution ^_~.

Whoo! I love the Great Dane. The Fitchburg location is so much better than the one downtown. *sniffle* But I have lab meeting then, and it doesn't sound like they let more of your friends crash the event later in the evening. ;_; I hope you have a great time, though!

(As for my item choices -- I'm a big fan of utility. If you don't particularly care what you're getting, then I think a good thing to do is get something you could either use if something you currently own breaks or sell if there's too much clutter in your house.) ^_^

I shant hold my breath about going with you on said adventure. But, throwing darts (or anything of the sort) is usually a grand reliever of stress. Have fun!

I voted for the Swiss Army Knife, that's what I got on my 5 year at Skaalen, it's useful and even if you have one it's not bad to have a backup (in case you ever have it confiscated at the airport or something)

Well, regrettably, I'm not available on the 3rd (and frankly, you were probably going to call some attractive young thing who isn't me anyway). offBeat's singing that night at the Mill St. Inn & Pub. As for which gift you should take: beats me. I looked briefly this morning, but I needed to leave for work so I decided to examine further and leave a comment later. Well, now the site's temporarily down. I remember liking one of the desk clocks, but I don't imagine that you need or even want another clock.
